Money For Reviews - Get Paid to Review Movies

Before I begin I'd like to ask you a few questions, just answer them in your head. First of all, how many movies do you think you have watched in your life time? Second, how many hours did you waste on boring, uninteresting, unoriginal, poorly thought, just downright BAD movies? Well it makes sense there are so many movie reviewers, since there is such a high demand for quality movie reviews, because of the never ending supply of poorly written, directed, etc. movies. I've been getting paid to write movie reviews since I was 16, and honestly I got paid pennies writing for newspapers and magazines than I'm getting now. How? Publishing the reviews my self, on the internet.

Everyone knows where the moneys at: the internet. What everyone doesn't know, is how do you take advantage of this? How do you make a dime on the net, there are so many frauds and scams, you can't find any legitimate way to earn online. How can you get paid to review movies?

The Big Picture: Every time I surf over to websites that allow users to post there own personal movie reviews, and I see hundreds (sometime thousands) of reviews posted for any given movie, I get a good belly laugh. A lot of these articles are high quality, insightful, well written reviews. With a descent understanding of article marketing, these reviewers could be making a KILLING off this talent. But because no one has told them about it, and they haven't bothered to run a quick Google search, they are getting ziltch for something that could literally be there primary source of income.

Getting paid good money for your movie reviews isn't about the way you write them or on what movies you write about. It's about where you post them, it's about applying article marketing principles. Article marketing is a mixture of SEO (Search Enginge Optimization), simple internet marketing, and just plain resourcefulness. The idea is, your reviews will get indexed on Google for terms like "[Insert Movie Here] Review." So for example you write a review for Hellboy 2, and you apply the article marketing techniques, and you see some descent results. Your article "Hellboy 2 Review" gets indexed on the third spot, so when someone searches for "Hellboy 2 review" your article is right in front of there eyes.

This article in this scenario, will probably earn about 250$/month until Hellboy 2 is no longer in theatres, once it hits DVD the article will make roughly 100$/month, and after that it will make about 40-50$/month.

As you can see, you could make hundreds, sometimes thousands of a single well written review.

The Facts

Who's paying me?

The owners of these movies! After every review you leave an affiliate link, this is simply a URL that has your user name embedded. If someone purchases some movie tickets for that movie, you get a commission. If you rated the movie poorly, simply leave a second link for a movie that you would recommend instead.

Is this going to cost me anything?

Nope, your reviews are submitted to article banks and blogging sites such as EzineArticles or Squidoo.

Do I need my own website?

No. Again, you will be submitting these to blogging services and article submission websites.

How much can I expect to earn?

Well that all depends on you, and how much time your willing to invest, and how seriously you wish to take it. Even a poorly written review will make at least 20 - 30$ per month. Pump out 10 reviews in a day, and at the minimum you added 300$ to your monthly income.

Article marketing is your key to success in the field of paid movie reviews. It's literally the only way to go, unless you get a job working for a national newspaper, this is the highest paying way to get paid for movie reviews.

Impartial DVD Reviews Are a Must

Whether you're an avid film fan, a casual movie goer or if you're more into your television dramas, you've probably purchased a DVD at some stage of your life. Some people like to buy DVDs of their favourite actors, follow the careers of their favourite directors, or just to buy films from their favourite genres. However, when you buy a DVD there's nothing worse than being disappointed with your purchase. With DVDs becoming so cheap these days, possibly due in part to the advent of Blu-Ray, it's more common to pick up a cheap DVD with your shopping without having done any research into the film itself - meaning the chances of you being disappointed with the product are much higher.

Thanks to this, many DVD fans like to seek out DVD reviews to find out what titles are worth buying, and which ones are best left on the shelves. There are many film and DVD magazines offering reviews of the latest titles, but what many home entertainment fans fail to realise is that a great many of these publications feature sponsored reviews. What appears to be an unbiased, impartial DVD review is in fact a paid review that talks up the DVD, its picture and sound quality and the extensiveness of the special features in order to increase sales. The production companies and distributers are known for paying for positive reviews from DVD reviews magazines, paying for cover shots and paying for additional coverage. When you believe you're reading an impartial review, what you're really reading is an advertorial geared towards getting you to buy the product.

You may think that the online world is more impartial, with DVD reviews websites less likely to feature paid reviews than DVD magazines; however you would be wrong. Many of the main film and DVD website also feature paid reviews, offering additional coverage and editorial to companies that pay for it.

You could argue that this isn't really an issue, because the magazines and websites have to earn a living and featuring paid-for reviews is one way of doing that. The production companies and distributors are helping to keep the DVD magazines and websites going, which is only good for the reviews industry. However, if a review has been paid for then you could be reading a glowing review of a film or DVD that is in fact very poor, a review that will influence your buying decision towards purchasing a product that will disappoint you.

This means you need to be sure that the website or magazine that you are reading actually offers genuine, unbiased DVD reviews written by genuine fans of film and television who don't have any hidden agendas, allegiances or motives for promoting one DVD over another. Only when you find a reviews website that offers genuine reviews can you be sure that what you're reading is trustworthy and accurate, as opposed to some carefully crafted sales piece masquerading as a DVD review.

If you've ever bought a DVD after reading rave reviews, only to find that it was utter rubbish - chances are you read a paid review.

Darren has enjoyed an interest in film for many years, studying the subject at Newport Film School where he worked on the film 'Cop on the Edge IX: Prelude to Justice'. Darren setup the website http://www.whatdvd.net in 2003 to further his love of films and to write passionately about movies he enjoys, and about those he doesn't. WhatDVD features regular DVD reviews from a number of contributors.

Why DVD Reviews Are Better

Coming out of the theater, dead and beaten. I went to see the hottest movie in town, "Georgy and Porgie" but in reality it turned out to be more of an hodge podge. No action, the script was dead and the graphics were even sadder. Does the situation sound familiar to you?

It happened to me recently. While watching the movie, I kept cursing myself for not checking out the DVD review of the movie. Had I known the script, I would not even have considered going to the theater. This is what happens with many of us. Sometimes, the most coveted movie turns out to be a total failure and we not only end up wasting our hard earned money but our precious time as well.

On the contrary, some couples go for such movies to have a good time, knowing that the theatre is bound to be empty for their fancies. Some pay for these movies so that they can have a good hour and a half nap away from the nagging wives and shrill mothers. Many of these viewers also end up getting disappointed as the movie they went for got rave reviews and everybody turned up for it. They too end up cursing themselves or in case of the couples, each other.

Well, life would have been much simpler for all these couples and the not-so-lucky-singles, had they just taken out a few minutes to check out the reviews of the movie and decided whether it was worth a watch in the theater or a DVD at home would have been better off.
