"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Turtles Forever" DVD Review

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back! When I first came across this movie, I hadn't realized that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had already been around for 25 years. It has been a long time, and in honor of their 25th anniversary, Nickelodeon has decided to release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever for the first time ever on DVD. With regard to the review, I'm going to get straight to the point and say that the girls that watched this with me were totally uninterested. But the boys, however, were a completely different story. Turtles Forever may be a really great movie for them to see.

This latest movie release has the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meet...the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! The turtles from one dimension meet the turtles from another dimension when a teleporting mishap occurs in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever. Together, all the turtles must locate the Technodrome to fix this mess. Meanwhile, Shredder tracks down his counterpart, Ch'rell, who devises a master plan to travel back to the Prime Universe to get rid of the turtles once and for all! As worlds collide, the turtles come face to face with the classic characters like Splinter, Casey and April, and a slew of archenemies including Krang, Hun, the Foot Soldiers, the Purple Dragons, Bebop and Rocksteady.

Never heard of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Here is a little background on them:

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a team of four mutant turtles, trained by their beloved rat sensei, Master Splinter, in the art of Ninjutsu.

They are name after four Renaissance artists, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael

The Turtles battle criminals, evil megalomaniacs and alien invaders,

The Turtle do all their deeds while remaining isolated from society and living freely in their home in the sewers of New York

These characters initially appeared in comic books before being licensed for toys, cartoons, video games, films and other merchandise. The became one of the most popular franchises of the last 25 years, earning $260 million worldwide.

The street release date for this movie is August 24, 2010 and the suggested retail priced for the DVD is $16.99. You can usually find it at a discounted rate, however, by ordering it on Amazon or checking other big box stores. (DVD Running Time - 73 Minutes).

Review Result: I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. Awesome DVD for boys, but if you have only girls, it may not be as entertaining for them.
